West Virginia Music Center is THE up-to-date, no-frills, get-to-the-point directory of live bands and musicians working in the Mountain State.
Most on-line band listing sites have two reasons for being:
- to get you to you look at their pop-up advertising
- to acquire your email address so they can sell it
West Virginia Music Center has only ONE purpose... to increase the your visibility to club owners, party planners, fairs & festivals and the paying public by helping them find your website.
West Virginia Music Center is reserved for West Virginia bands and musicians only. It is hosted on a low-traffic server so that it loads in a snap. The site has no ads, never sells your email address and does not charge you a cent.
West Virginia Music Center is fast and easy to navigate. From the talent list on the front page, click your act name to see a brief description in a new window (or tab). To see more, click the link at the bottom to go to YOUR full site. Closing that window (or tab) brings visitors back to the talent list.

Q. WHY DOES MY LISTING NOT APPEAR IN THE LIST WHERE I EXPECT IT TO?
A. Names are sorted alphabetically. Names of people are sorted by first name. Numbers are sorted as though they were spelled out. The word The before a name is ignored.
Q. WHY THE TEASER PAGE, WHY NOT LINK DIRECTLY TO OUR WEBSITE?
A. Typical band pages are slow to load. Using a teaser page allows the viewer to go down the list and see something about each band quickly.
Q. I REGISTERED MY OWN DOMAIN NAME, CAN YOU HOST MY WHOLE WEBSITE?
A. You must host your own website elsewhere. I will put you on the talent list and provide a teaser page with a picture and a link to your website.
Q. WE ARE NOT FROM WEST VIRGINIA, CAN WE GET LISTED?
A. Sucks to be you. The purpose of wvmc.com is to promote live bands and musicians from West Virginia. There are plenty of other free band listing sites on the internet.
Q. HOW DO I GET MY PROMO PHOTO TO YOU?
A. Include your favorite JPEG picture with a size of about 640x480 pixels.
Q. HOW OFTEN CAN I CHANGE MY PAGE?
A. I can make changes to your picture and website address links easily, but don't tax my charitable spirit with weekly changes.
Q. WHY DID YOU TAKE OUR LISTING DOWN?
A. My goal is to maintain an up-to-date directory of available, contactable, live bands so that buyers can find a rich assortment of ready-to-go talent. Links leading to 'PAGE NOT FOUND' (404) errors, or abandoned out-of-date pages, or acts not available to play will be removed.
Q. HOW DO I GET BACK ON THE LIST?
A. If you meet the listing requirements, simply re-apply.
Q. WHAT IF WE BREAK UP OR AREN'T AVAILABLE FOR HIRE?
A. If your act breaks up, or if you see a dead act in the list, please let me know so I can remove it from the list. If your act is temporarily unavailable, email me so I can disable your link until you are available.
